Love what you love

We all have things we love, things that bring us joy when we experience them.  It could be food, activities, people, creations, or just time to ourselves for reflection and stillness.

Do you know what brings you joy? What do you love?  Why do you love these things?  Do they evoke fond memories, give you peace or balance, or do you just find simple joy in them?

I love my family.  Yes, even in the crazy times of the day when it all seems to be coming apart, I love them even then.

I also love my time alone to do what fuels my soul.  Sometimes it is my bible study time, or my time to work on my projects peacefully.

I love to garden, digging in the soil gives me a connection to a simpler, though harder, lifestyle.  I love to invest time and energy into something that will bring me joy and sometimes even food, later as a thank you for my efforts.

I love to create.  I am not an artist, but I do love the time I take to create something.  I like to sew, make floral arrangements, bake, take photographs, and sometimes even draw or paint.  I won’t say I am skilled at any of these to speak of, but I do enjoy the time I spend doing them.

I love to cook.  Sometimes dinner and daily meals become mundane and tedious, but I still love to go into the kitchen and turn raw ingredients into delicious meals that nourish my family.

I love to do nothing too.  I love to bask in the sun by my pool.  I love to sit in the shade and relax.  Curling up on the couch to binge watch my favorite television show or movie brings me joy too.

What do you love to love?
